Jim Nelson is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial management, contracts, and compliance within the defense sector. Currently serving as Vice President Finance at Leonardo DRS since January 2018, Jim oversees financial planning and analysis, contracts, and pricing. Previously, Jim held key roles including Senior Director and Director of Program Finance, and Senior Manager of Contracts and Compliance, where responsibilities encompassed contract negotiation and risk management. Jim served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Defense Contractors Association, advocating for business interests within the defense community. Prior to this, Jim worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as Director of the Government Contracts Practice and began a career at Northrop Grumman in various financial analyst and contracts administrator roles. Jim holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
