Jacob Pontoppidan Thyssen currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President at LEO Pharma, a position held since May 2023. Thyssen has a longstanding academic affiliation with Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where roles have included Professor Emeritus, Professor, and Associate Professor of Medicine starting in January 2015. In addition to these roles, Thyssen has worked as a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at Region Hovedstaden since January 2005. Thyssen's research background includes a Guest Professor position at the University of Zurich and a Post Doc at the National Allergy Research Centre, with earlier research fellowships at UCSF and Harvard Medical School. Academic qualifications include a DmSci degree focused on Metal Allergy, a PhD in Allergy and Dermatitis, and an MD from Københavns Universitet.
