Flemming Simonsen has extensive experience in toxicology, having served as a Toxicologist at LEO Pharma since June 2005. Prior to this role, Flemming worked as a Senior Consultant in Regulatory Toxicology at the Danish Toxicology Centre from 1990 to 2005, with a focus on pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, and pesticides. Additional experiences include positions as a Scientist at Tjøtta Forskingsstasjon in Norway, a Toxicologist at the Institute of Toxicology, National Food Agency of Denmark, a Veterinarian at Steff-Houlberg Slaughterhouse, and an Information Scientist at the Centre for Veterinary and Agricultural Documentation. Flemming holds a DVM degree from Den Kgl. Veterinær- og Landbohøjskole and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology in 2012. Education was also pursued at Haslev Gymnasium.
