Ioannis (John) Kymissis has a comprehensive work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Ioannis (John) is currently serving as the Kenneth Brayer Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University since July 2006. Additionally, they have co-founded and served as a scientific advisor for multiple companies, including Lelantos, Lumiode, Inc., Radiator Labs, and Chromation. Ioannis (John) has also held the role of Co-founder and CTO at Chromation.

Kymissis has been actively involved in various technical advisory and editorial roles as well. Ioannis (John) was a member of the technical advisory board at Udacomm from January 2012 to January 2015. Ioannis (John) also served as the Editor in Chief for the Society for Information Display from an unknown start date to 2015.

During their earlier career, Kymissis worked as a Senior Engineer/consultant at QD Vision, Inc. in the period prior to 2006. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT from an unknown start date to 2006 and a Graduate Student at MIT from an unknown start date to 2003.

Ioannis (John) Kymissis attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1994 to 2003. During this time, they pursued a bachelor's degree (SB) in Electrical Engineering and subsequently completed both a master's degree (M.Eng) and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in the same field.
