Maheshwaran Govender is a Program Area Manager at Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) GmbH since September 2022, where responsibilities include supporting managerial, organizational, and communication tasks for the Land-Ocean Fluxes and Transformations program. Previously, Maheshwaran served as an Officer of Knowledge Exchange for the sea4soCiety project and worked as a Guest Researcher on the NOCRISIS project. Prior to ZMT, Maheshwaran held the position of Radiotelemetry Technician at Suranaree University of Technology, focusing on the spatial and thermal ecology of king cobras in Thailand, and worked as an Education Officer at Pitchandikulam Forest Consultants, designing an environmental education framework and conducting faunal surveys. Maheshwaran earned a Master of Science in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems from Université libre de Bruxelles (2020-2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Madras Christian College (2013-2016).
