Basile CALMET has extensive experience in the field of purchasing and procurement. Basile began their career as a Junior Buyer at SAUR in 1997 and later worked as a Commodity Buyer at Avaya from 1999 to 2000. From 2001 to 2005, Basile served as a Senior Commodity Buyer at Sony.
In 2005, Basile joined Legrand and held various positions of increasing responsibility. Basile started as a Group Lead Buyer/Project Purchasing Manager and held this role until 2013. During this time, they were responsible for managing and coordinating purchasing activities.
From 2013 to 2018, Basile served as a Corporate Purchasing Manager at Legrand, where they further developed their skills in optimizing expenses and managing resources.
In 2018, they were promoted to the role of Business Unit Purchasing Director, where they optimized direct and indirect expenses on a global scale for the Digital Infrastructure and Cable Management Business Units.
Currently, Basile is working as the Indirect Purchasing Corporate Director at Legrand, a role they have held since 2020. In this position, they are responsible for managing, leading, and coordinating the activities of the Corporate buyers and purchasing managers, with a focus on optimizing indirect expenses and supervising contract management for major suppliers. Basile also contributes to the development of transverse ESG opportunities and program development.
Basile CALMET attended the IMD in 2018, where they studied Inspiring Leadership. Prior to that, they attended the Ecole supérieure des Pays de Loire (ESPL) from 1995 to 1997, earning a Higher Certificate in Management. Before that, from 1993 to 1995, they also attended ESPL, where they obtained a Higher National Diploma in International Business.
