Ryan Gibson has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Ryan started their career at Gibson Criminal Defence in 2010, working as a Barrister & Solicitor until 2017. During this time, they gained valuable experience in criminal defense. In 2017, Ryan joined Legal Aid Ontario as Staff Duty Counsel, providing legal assistance to clients in need. Ryan held this role until 2019 and then re-joined Legal Aid Ontario in 2023. Ryan also had a role as a Policy Analyst at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children from 2021 to 2022, where they focused on analyzing policies related to children's welfare. Overall, Ryan's work experience showcases their expertise in criminal defense, legal aid, and policy analysis.

Ryan Gibson attended York University - Osgoode Hall Law School from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a J.D. degree in Law. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2006, they studied at the University of Guelph, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science.
