Chris Mackenzie has over 25 years of work experience in various financial and managerial roles. Their most recent position was as the Chief Operating Officer at Ledingham Chalmers LLP, starting in June 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Managing Director at Ingenium Business Advisory Limited starting in February 2019. From 2018 to 2018, they held the role of Head of Planning, Performance & Economics at Total. Before that, they had an extensive career at Maersk Oil, where they served in multiple roles including Head of Planning, Performance and Economics, Interim CFO, and Head of Finance & Accounting. Chris also worked at Kerr McGee Oil & Gas Corp, John Wood Group PLC, Atlantic Telecom Group PLC, and KPMG UK.

Chris Mackenzie has a diverse education history. Chris obtained a degree in Accountancy, specifically an MA in Accountancy, from the University of Aberdeen. In addition, they completed the Chartered Accountant program at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Chris also pursued further education in the field of finance and leadership by participating in the Strategic Leadership in Finance Programme, offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW), as part of the Network of Finance Leaders (NFL). Chris also holds a certification as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) with a specialization in Pensions & Life Assurance from the Chartered Institute of Insurance. Furthermore, Chris attended Hutchesons' Grammar School. In terms of additional certifications, they are a Certified Practitioner of NLP Coaching, a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), a Certified Practitioner of Time Line Therapy, and a Hypnotherapy - Certified Practitioner. These certifications were obtained from Inspire 360 Ltd and were completed in June 2019. Lastly, Chris also obtained the Network of Finance Leaders (NFL) certification from ICAEW in December 2013.
