Leonid Alekseyev has been working in the tech industry since 2007. Leonid started their career as a Visiting Research Scholar at Purdue University in 2007. In 2008, they worked as a Summer Associate for Merrill Lynch, where they optimized a high-frequency volatility arbitrage trading strategy. From 2009 to 2012, Leonid was a Data Mining and Analytics Engineer at ImageShack Corp., where they studied and optimized data access patterns for an ultra-high traffic media hosting startup. From 2012 to 2016, they served as a Software Engineer at Splunk, where they developed infrastructure and microservices monitoring applications. In 2016, they became a Machine Learning Engineer at EdCast Inc. and, in 2018, they took on the role of Principal Software Engineer at LedgerDomain, an enterprise blockchain company working to bring fast, personalized, and secure transactions to the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Leonid Alekseyev completed their Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stanford University between 1998 and 2002. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2003. Leonid then completed their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Optical Physics) from Princeton University between 2004 and 2011. In addition, Leonid has obtained several certifications since 2013, including Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in 2019, Statistical Learning from Stanford Online - Open EdX in 2015, Regression Models from Coursera in 2015, Programming Languages from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2014, Probabilistic Graphical Models from Coursera in 2013, Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in 2013, and Introduction to Mathematical Thinking from Coursera in 2013.
