Elena Miyasato is a dedicated professional with a robust background in environmental science and education. Currently serving on the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Education Team since April 2022, Elena previously contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher and Instructor at the University of Michigan, where research focused on the Department of Energy's Co-optima algal biofuels project and mentoring undergraduate students in hydrology. Prior experience includes roles as a Ski Instructor at Steamboat Resort and as a Youth Development Specialist with the American Youth Foundation, where leadership was demonstrated through outdoor programs and wilderness survival training. Elena's engineering experience encompasses positions at CH2M and Jacobs, where water resources and process engineering initiatives were undertaken. Elena holds a Master of Science in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from Clemson University.
