Barnett Berry

Senior Research Fellow at Learning Policy Institute

Barnett Berry is a seasoned education policy expert currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning Policy Institute since June 2019, focusing on whole child education policy and the advancement of the teaching profession. In addition, Barnett serves as a Senior Advisor for What School Could Be, advising on systemic changes for student-led learning, and holds positions as a Visiting Scholar at Southern Cross University and an Advisory Board Member for the Global Cities Education Network at Digital Promise. Previously, Barnett was a Research Professor at the University of South Carolina, where efforts centered on public education and teacher development, and founded the Center for Teaching Quality, serving as CEO until April 2019. Barnett's career also includes roles as an Associate Professor and Associate Director for Policy at NCTAF, contributing to research and policy advances that support the teaching profession in America. Barnett earned a Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
