Machel Mills-Miles currently serves as Vice President of Standards Implementation and Outreach at Learning Forward, a position held since April 2021. Prior to this role, Machel was a Senior Learning Strategist at BloomBoard, Inc. from July 2019 to April 2021. Machel's experience in education includes leadership roles at the Tennessee Department of Education, where Machel was Director of Talent and Professional Learning Systems and Director of Professional Learning Systems from July 2016 to June 2019. Additional experience includes positions at Metro Nashville Public Schools, where Machel worked as a District Lead Coach, Instructional Coach, and Reading/Language Arts Teacher from August 2004 to July 2016, as well as a Language Arts Teacher at Omaha Public Schools from August 2003 to May 2004. Machel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science from Northwestern University, a Master of Education in Urban Settings from Vanderbilt University, and a Teaching Certificate for Middle School from the College of Saint Mary.
