Alissa McDonald Rice

HS Science/science Dept Head/head Volleyball Coach at LEADERSHIP PREP SCHOOL

Alissa McDonald Rice has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in education, coaching, and the wellness industry. Alissa is currently serving as the Head Coach at Excel Boys Volleyball Club since September 2021. Prior to this, Alissa worked at Leadership Prep School from 2016, where they held multiple roles including HS Science/Science Dept Head/Head Volleyball Coach. Alissa also worked as an Independent Distributor at Advocare starting in 2014. In 2013, they served as a High School Science Teacher/Coach at Lake Dallas ISD, and from 2012 to 2013, they held a similar role at Lewisville ISD. Alissa began their career in education at Aubrey ISD in 2007 as a HS Science Teacher/Academic Decathlon Coach/Student Council and Jr Sponsor. Additionally, they worked as a Middle School Science Teacher/Coach at Sanger ISD from 2004 to 2006. Alissa has a strong academic background with a Masters of Science degree and teaching certificate from the University of North Texas, where they also worked as a Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant. During their time at the university, they taught activity classes and conducted research in exercise physiology, publishing two journal articles and presenting their findings internationally.

Alissa McDonald Rice obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of North Texas, starting in 1998 and finishing in 2001. Alissa then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Exercise Physiology/Biology at the same university, graduating in 2003. Alissa further expanded their education by earning a second Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Texas, which they completed between the years 2001 and 2003.
