Rafael Veras has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. In 2010, they started their career as a Developer at Rede de Informática, where they worked until 2011. In 2017, they had a brief stint as a Research Intern at Microsoft. Starting from 2019, Rafael worked as a Researcher in Human-Computer Interaction at Huawei Technologies. Rafael stayed with Huawei until 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Machine Learning Engineer at Layer 6 AI, starting in 2022.

Rafael Veras completed their education in a chronological manner. Rafael began their academic journey in 2006 at Universidade Federal do Pará, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. This program lasted from 2006 until 2010. Following this, Rafael enrolled at Ontario Tech University in 2009, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. Rafael completed this program in 2013. Building upon their previous education, Rafael continued their studies at Ontario Tech University, starting their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Computer Science in 2013. Rafael successfully completed this program in 2018.
