Melody Andrews is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant Public Defender for the Public Defender 2nd Judicial since 2022. Prior to this role, Melody worked as a Legal and Policy Intern at Disability Rights Florida, focusing on Florida policy topics and legislative analysis. Education includes a Doctor of Law (JD) from Florida State University, where Melody also contributed as a Research Assistant for Professor Paolo Annino and participated in the Children's Advocacy Clinic. Additional legal experience encompasses internships with the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence, where research on various legal issues was conducted, and a role as a Student Legal Advocate. Earlier in their career, Melody gained extensive experience in audio engineering for educational companies and theatrical productions, holding positions such as Audio Engineer at Age of Learning, Inc. and Live Sound Engineer in freelance roles. An undergraduate degree in Theatre and Creative Writing was also obtained from Florida State University.
