Jan-Philipp Koch is an experienced professional in the field of computer science and virtual reality, currently serving as the Head of Pipeline and Supervisor of Research & Development at LAVAlabs Moving Images GmbH & Co KG since March 2017. With a strong background in technical direction and art support, Jan-Philipp manages a team of Pipeline Technical Directors and oversees development progress to ensure the art team has the necessary resources for creating high-quality movies and television shows. Additionally, Jan-Philipp has held various roles including Software Engineer and Python for Maya Lecturer, contributing to educational environments while also gaining initial experience as a Trainee 3D Rigger & Animator. Jan-Philipp holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a focus on Virtual Reality from SRH Hochschule Heidelberg and a vocational baccalaureate diploma in Information Systems specializing in Software Development.
