Alex Maizlish has a diverse work experience in data science and mathematics. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Manager, Data Science at Launch Potato since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Launch Potato from March 2021 to November 2022.
Alex also has teaching experience as a Lecturer at Northeastern University starting in January 2022.
Before their roles in data science, Alex worked at WGAMES as a Data Manager / Chief Mathematician from May 2017 to February 2021.
They also worked at Forming Technologies Inc as an Applied Mathematician from September 2014 to April 2017, where they focused on developing algorithms for surface and mesh generation as well as combinatorics algorithms for metal forming simulation.
In their earlier years, Alex worked at the University of Manitoba as a Postdoctoral Fellow from May 2014 to August 2014 and as a Ph.D. Student/Instructor, Vanier Scholar from September 2009 to April 2014, where their research focused on adaptive triangulations.
Alex Maizlish obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Alex attended the university from 2003 to 2007. After completing their undergraduate studies, Alex pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics at the University of Manitoba from 2008 to 2014. In terms of certifications, they obtained the "Data Science Fundamentals" certification from the University of Toronto in January 2019. Alex also obtained two certifications from the Society of Actuaries: "Exam FM - Financial Mathematics" in June 2015 and "Exam P - Probability" in March 2015. No institution is specified for the actuarial certifications.
