Bryan Simpson is a scientist and preclinical team lead at Latus Bio, with experience as a volunteer staff writer for SCAsource. Previously, Bryan served as a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr. Beverly Davidson's laboratory at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Bryan completed a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, where research focused on developing CRISPR-Cas9 editing strategies for neurological diseases and evaluating outcomes in SCA2 mouse models. Earlier research roles included research assistant II at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Bridges Research Scholar at Caltech, where Bryan worked on novel AAV vector capsids for CNS delivery. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis.
