Orin Eman began their career in 1992 as a Senior Software Engineer at Attachmate. In 1993, they joined Laplink Software as a Principal Engineer, where their work included the communication layer for Laplink for Windows, certification of drivers under the Microsoft WHQL program, and the Remote Desktop Client and Server (RDP) used by Laplink Everywhere and Laplink Gold.

Orin Eman's education history includes a BSc in Computing and Electronics from Durham University, obtained between 1979 and 1982. Orin has also obtained several certifications, including a Microsoft Exam 483: Programming in C# in November 2018, a Programming Languages certification from Coursera in October 2013, a Classical Mechanics certification from edX in September 2013, a Mechanics ReView certification from edX in June 2013, a Digital Signal Processing certification from Coursera in April 2013, an Electricity and Magnetism certification from edX in February 2013, a Circuits and Electronics certification from edX in September 2012, an edX Honor Code Certificate for Embedded Systems - Shape the World, and an edX Honor Code Certificate for Intellectual Property Law and Policy: Part 1.
