Pia Roering is a seasoned professional in the field of biomedicine and pathology, currently serving as Projektipäällikkö for the Laphan digipatologiahanke and Suunnittelija in digipatologia at Lapin hyvinvointialue since June 2023. Pia is also a Doctoral Researcher funded by a research grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, focusing on a PhD project regarding novel therapy targets and biomarkers for chemotherapy-resistant high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, active since February 2024. Previously, Pia held the position of Järjestökoordinaattori at Pidä Lappi Siistinä ry from November 2021 to June 2023, overseeing projects, membership issues, and environmental education. Prior experience includes roles as Graduate Student and Research Assistant at the University of Turku, and work on cancer projects at Turku University Hospital. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Biomedicine from the University of Turku and a Master's degree in Cell Biology from Åbo Akademi University.
