Henry Anaya-Sánchez has extensive work experience in the field of data science and natural language processing (NLP/NLU). Henry started their career in 2004 as a teaching assistant and later became a lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the Universidad de Oriente in Cuba. During this time, they taught various programming and technology-related courses.
In 2009, they joined the Universitat Jaume I as a researcher and worked on projects involving machine learning and semi-supervised learning. Henry developed probabilistic methods and tools for classifying high dimensional data using small-size training sets.
In 2012, Henry Anaya-Sánchez continued their research activities at the same university, focusing on the exploitation of large knowledge repositories for integrating and analyzing biomedical information. Henry also worked on opinion mining and sentiment analysis, designing methodologies for extracting product features and customer opinions from reviews.
From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a data scientist at COREX Soluciones Informaticas, where they conducted data analysis and implemented sentiment analysis and document classification techniques.
From 2013 to 2016, Henry Anaya-Sánchez served as a research associate at UNED, focusing on unsupervised learning of coherent data aggregations in the context of knowledge discovery from databases.
In 2016, they joined Séntrisis as a senior data scientist and continued working on natural language processing projects. Henry worked on automatic learning of chatbots and extracting insights from Twitter data and user interactions.
In 2017, Henry Anaya-Sánchez became the NLP/NLU Technical Lead at Lang.ai, where they are currently responsible for leading technical initiatives related to natural language processing and understanding.
Henry Anaya-Sánchez received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Oriente, Cuba, from 1998 to 2002. Henry then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Universitat Jaume I from 2009 to 2016. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained the following certifications: Hadoop Platform and Application Framework from Coursera Course Certificates in December 2015, and an edX Verified Certificate for Implementing Real-Time Analytics with Hadoop in Azure HDInsight.
