Shelby LaMar has a diverse work experience in the field of fundraising and development. Shelby started their career as an Associate Director of Development, Director of Annual Giving, and Development Officer at St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School, where they worked from 1996 to 2005. Shelby then joined Phillips Realty Capital, where they handled marketing, communication, and business development from 2005 to 2007. Afterwards, they worked at CCS as an Executive Director, organizing and implementing fundraising strategies for nonprofits from 2007 to 2009. Shelby then became the Chief Advancement Officer at Lancaster Country Day School, overseeing development operations and managing capital campaigns from 2009 until recently. Shelby is currently employed at Grenzebach Glier and Associates as a Vice President, providing consultative services for capital campaigns, annual funds, and other fundraising areas within the independent school practice area.

Shelby LaMar obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Anthropology from Washington and Lee University, graduating in 1996. Prior to that, they received their High School Diploma from St. Anne's-Belfield School. In 2015, Shelby completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Elizabethtown College.
