Mihai Dumitrescu has over 19 years of experience in the software engineering industry. Mihai began their career in 2001 as a Junior Software Engineer at Fraass & Hahn GmbH, where they worked on a security holdings management software. In 2002, they moved to 3SOFT GmbH, where they worked on GPS Navigation Systems and created a map matching algorithm which uses a particle filter to dynamically estimate the position of the navigating vehicle. In 2004, they became a Senior Software Engineer at c.a.r.u.s. s.r.l., where they were responsible for Software Architecture and Database Design for an ERP system. In 2006, they founded and became the Managing Partner of rosoftlab s.r.l. In 2015, they founded VanillaWorks UG and launched the vanillaNAV indoor navigation system. In 2016, they were appointed as the CTO of Lampix. In 2019, they became the CTO of Opiria & PDATA. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at ThinkSimple.io.

Mihai Dumitrescu attended Johannes Honterus Lyzeum from 1987 to 1999, where they obtained a Baccalaureate. Mihai then attended FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a Dipl. Inf. Univ. in Computer Science. Mihai is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Universitatea Transilvania din Brașov, which they started in 2008.
