Joanne Dunkerley is a seasoned urban planner with extensive experience in strategic planning and development assessment across multiple councils in Australia. Currently serving as a Senior Strategic Planner at Lake Macquarie City Council since May 2020, Joanne previously held roles such as Urban Planner and Acting Senior Urban Planner at the City of Newcastle from November 2015 to April 2020. Prior to that, Joanne worked as a Strategic Planner and Development Assessment Planner at Great Lakes Council from December 2007 to October 2015, and as a Development Assessment Officer at Willoughby City Council from February 2000 to December 2007. Earlier career experience includes serving as an Assessment Officer at North Sydney Council from 1995 to 1998. Joanne holds a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New England and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health from Western Sydney University.
