Vince Balbo

Vince Balbo has extensive experience in law enforcement and security. Vince began their career in 1979 as a Police Officer and Detective with the Lake County Sheriff's Police Department. From there, they worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in various roles, including Deputy Section Chief, Team Leader, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge. Balbo also served as the Country Attache/Middle East Assistant Regional Director for the DEA in Afghanistan. In 2011, they became the Chief of the Chicago Strike Force, managing multiple law enforcement agencies in their efforts to combat drug trafficking and gang violence. Balbo later joined the School City of East Chicago as the Director of Security and School Safety, responsible for implementing safety policies and systems. Vince is currently the Chief of Police for the Lake County Sheriff's Department.

Vince Balbo's education history is as follows:

- From 1975 to 1977, Vince attended Calumet College of St. Joseph, where they studied Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. Vince did not obtain a degree during this time.

- In 1979, Vince enrolled in the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, located in Plainfield, Indiana. Vince completed their training under the session name "79-57" but did not receive a specific degree.

- From 1986 to 1988, Vince pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Administration at Indiana University Northwest.

- In 1988, Vince attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, where they participated in the Drug Unit Commander's School. Vince did not earn a degree from this program.

- The following year, in 1989, Vince attended the DEA Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Vince obtained a BA 65 degree from this program, although the field of study is unspecified.

- In 2016, Vince furthered their education by completing a School Safety Specialist program at the Indiana Department of Education. Vince obtained a degree titled "School Safety Specialist" with a field of study in School Safety & Security.
