Gunnar B. has extensive work experience in various roles within the automotive industry. Gunnar most recently served as the VP Engineering and Technology at Laird Thermal Systems since October 2019. Prior to that, they were the Head HMI Electronics Development BMW at Preh GmbH from May 2018 to September 2019. As the Product Line Director at Kelvion Brazed PHE GmbH from October 2017 to April 2018, they were responsible for overseeing the product line. Gunnar also held key positions at Valeo Schalter und Sensoren GmbH, where they served as the Technical Product Line Manager Laser Scanner from January 2015 to September 2017 and as the Manager Ultrasonic System Metier from July 2012 to December 2014. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Engineer at Mahle Behr GmbH & Co. KG from August 2005 to October 2010, and as the Manager Acquisition at Behr America from 2000 to 2005.

Gunnar B. completed their education at various prestigious institutions. Gunnar began their academic journey from 1989 to 1993 at Technische Universität Berlin, where they earned a Diplomingenieur degree in Energie-und Verfahrenstechnik. Subsequently, they pursued further studies at the same university, specializing in Energietechnik, and obtained a Doktor der Ingenieurswissenschaften degree between 1993 and 1998. In addition to their studies at Technische Universität Berlin, Gunnar B. also attended TFH Berlin from 1995 to 1998, where they graduated with a Diplom Wirtschaftsingenieur degree in Investitionsgütermarketing.
