Navroop Singh Matharu is an experienced Senior Design Manager currently working for Laing O'Rourke since January 2023, focusing on the Civil and Geo Infrastructure team and researching innovative digital bridge products. In addition, Navroop serves as an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham, contributing to the School of Civil Engineering. Previous roles include Senior Design Manager and Design Manager at SYSTRA, where responsibilities included managing a technical team for HS2 projects, and Principal Engineer at Arcadis, overseeing detailed design activities for HS2 MWCC Phase 1. Navroop's extensive engineering background also includes roles in civil engineering at Tata Steel Projects, alongside significant research work during a Doctoral program at the University of Warwick, where Navroop focused on the experimental testing of composite materials for civil engineering applications. Educated at the University of Warwick, graduating with a PhD in Civil Engineering Composite Materials, and with a Master of Engineering degree, Navroop displays a strong academic and professional commitment to advancing civil engineering practices.
