Barry Newman I.Eng MICE is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the rail sector, currently serving as Project Technical Leader - Rail at Laing O'Rourke since October 2022. Previously, Barry held various senior positions including Senior Design & Contractors Engineering Manager at Skanska and Senior Design Manager - Rail at Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd. Additionally, significant roles at CPB Contractors, Coleman Rail, and Balfour Beatty Rail - Australia involved project engineering and management responsibilities across major rail projects. Barry began a career in engineering as a Graduate Design Engineer at Tony Gee and Partners after earning a BSc. in Civil Engineering from Nottingham Trent University.
