Leigh Ebrom has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Leigh began their career as a Research Assistant at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and later at the Center for African Studies at Michigan State University in 1999. In 1999, they also interned as an HR & Training Intern at Wolverine Worldwide, where they were involved in recruiting and onboarding new employees.
Leigh then worked as a Senior Law Clerk at Migrant Legal Aid from 2001 to 2002, managing a team of law clerks and interns and handling legal research and writing. During their time there, they wrote an amicus brief for the Michigan Supreme Court.
From 2001 to 2003, they served as a Law Clerk at Blachly Tabor Bozik & Hartman LLC, assisting with legal research and writing for personal injury and probate law issues.
Leigh then entered the legal field as an Associate Attorney at McCroskey Law, P.L.C from 2003 to 2008, representing plaintiffs in employment and disability-related claims, performing legal research and writing, and delivering legal education outreach and training for labor unions. Leigh later became a Member/Attorney at the same firm from 2008 to 2015, actively representing clients in Michigan workers' compensation, Social Security disability, and other employment and disability-related claims. Leigh handled client intake, case evaluation, vocational analysis, negotiation, and litigation, while also providing guidance and support to clients in navigating the legal process.
In 2015, Leigh started their freelance career as a Writer and Consultant, creating legal marketing content and advising small-to-midsize law firms and businesses on marketing strategies, including website design.
In 2017, they joined LaFleur Marketing as a Content Specialist and Editor, where they built content strategies for lead generation and conversion for clients in the legal and healthcare verticals. Leigh was responsible for editing content, creating editorial calendars, and developing content for digital and print media. Over time, they transitioned the content operations to a cross-functional team-of-teams model and served as a Managing Editor, mentoring and developing a team of writers.
Throughout their career, Leigh has demonstrated expertise in content development, strategy, and editing, as well as legal representation, research, and writing.
Leigh Ebrom holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Valparaiso University School of Law, which was obtained from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations and Affairs from Michigan State University, graduating between 1996 and 2000.
In addition to their formal education, Leigh has also obtained several certifications. These include Consumer Neuroscience and Neuromarketing from Copenhagen Business School in October 2021, The Strategy of Content Marketing from the University of California, Davis in October 2021, Health Literacy Writing for the Public from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in February 2019, and Inbound Certification from HubSpot in November 2015.
