Bob Lane is the Director of Admissions at The Lab School of Washington. Prior to their current position, Bob Lane worked at The Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington (AISGW), vibeffect, and The Kildonan School. At The Kildonan School, Bob Lane served as the Academic Dean (de facto Head of High School) from July 2002 to June 2013. Bob Lane also worked at The Lab School of Washington and NYSAIS. At NYSAIS, Bob Lane held the position of Council for Professional Learning and Collaboration from January 2010 to December 2013. Prior to their work at NYSAIS, Bob Lane worked as a Diagnostic Clinician at Educational Diagnostic Services, LLC from January 1999 to December 2001. Additionally, Bob Lane has experience as a Full Time Instructor, Advisor, Student Teaching Program Co-Coordinator, and Adjunct Faculty member at Teachers College, Columbia University from January 1997 to December 2002.
Bob Lane completed their Doctor of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Learning Disabilities. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Education and Master of Arts at Teachers College, Columbia University in Reading and Learning Disabilities and Education/Teaching of Individuals with Specific Learning Disabilities, respectively. Bob also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ursinus College in English. In addition, Bob Lane is certified by the ACADEMY OF ORTON-GILLINGHAM PRACTITIONERS AND EDUCATORS at the Associate Level and by the New Jersey and New York State Departments of Education as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant and Special Education Teacher, respectively.
They work with Anthony Perry - Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Daniel Hartmann - Director of Educational Technology, and Gretchen Kunz - Associate Director of Speech, Language & Literacy. Their manager is Kim Wargo, Head of School.
