Joanna E. Vasquez is an experienced environmental engineering professional currently serving as an Environmental Engineering Associate I and SB 1383 Food Rescue Fellow at LA Sanitation & Environment since September 2023. Prior to this, Joanna worked as a CA Climate Action Corps Fellow with the California Climate Action Corps from April 2023 to August 2024. Joanna's background includes roles at JRMA Architects | Engineers as a Marketing Coordinator and Engineering Research & Marketing Assistant between April 2018 and April 2023, and experience at the Los Angeles Unified School District as an Educational Aide III and Student Integration Helper. Earlier internships include work as an Environmental Engineer Intern at JRMA Architects | Engineers and a Watershed Protection Division Intern at the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. Academic achievements include a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from UC Irvine and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside.
