Darcy Smith's work experience begins in 1992 as an English/Drama Teacher at Otselic Valley Jr./Sr. High School, where they worked until 1998. In 1998, they became an English Teacher at Dover Union Free High School until 2000.
From 2001 to 2009, Darcy worked at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, starting as an Administrative Assistant in Product Development. Darcy then moved up to become a Staff Writer, responsible for categories such as Martha Stewart Everyday Garden and Martha Stewart Colors. Darcy played a key role in developing and launching Martha Stewart Crafts, Everyday Rooms, Martha Stewart Living Music, and Martha Stewart Living DVDs. In 2006, they became a Senior Writer for Martha Stewart Furniture, Lighting, Rugs, Colors, The Good Bed, KB Home, and Crafts, where they developed brand identities and wrote and edited various material.
In 2009, Darcy joined Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (later Sequential Brands Group) as an AVP Copy Director. In this role, they supervised copy for various retail partnerships, including Macy's, The Home Depot, QVC, and more. Darcy stayed with the company until 2017.
From 2018 to 2020, Darcy worked as a Freelance Copywriter for companies such as Matouk, Stickley, Viscul Creative, Stewart Rodriguez/ASH, Urbanspace NYC, and Royal Heritage Home.
In 2020, Darcy joined L & JG Stickley as a Copy Director, where they currently work.
Darcy Smith attended the State University of New York at Fredonia where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts. After completing their undergraduate studies, Darcy went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in English Education at the University at Albany, SUNY.
