Niels Kristian Kvistgaard has extensive experience in the public sector, currently serving as Områdechef for drift og anlæg at Kystdirektoratet - Danish Coastal Authority since October 2017, where responsibilities include coastal protection and IT management. Prior roles include Afdelingsleder at Vejdirektoratet from February 2010 to October 2017, and Vej- & Parkchef in Haderslev Kommune from July 1998 to January 2011, overseeing road and park departments. Niels began a career as Vejingeniør in Gram Kommune before transitioning to military service as Oversergent with Jydske Dragonregiment from August 1991 to July 1993. Niels holds a degree from the Engineering College of Aarhus and has completed military training at Hærens Sergentskole.
