Danie du Plessis is an accomplished executive in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Pharmaceutical Operations and Medical Affairs at Kyowa Kirin International plc since January 2020. Du Plessis also chairs the Board of Directors and serves as a board member and executive leadership committee member for the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) since March 2018, working to enhance the role of Medical Affairs through collaboration and education. As the Managing Director and Owner of TheNextVersion Ltd since July 2018, du Plessis is involved in strategic consulting. Previous roles include senior vice president positions at GlaxoSmithKline and various medical affairs leadership roles at Eli Lilly. Du Plessis holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and a Master of Medical Science in Pharmacology from the University of the Free State, as well as a medical degree from Stellenbosch University.
