Steve Sung In Kang is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public policy and community engagement. Currently serving as a Central Area Planning Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles since February 2022, Steve also holds the position of Director of External Affairs & Public Policy at the Koreatown Youth and Community Center since February 2018. Previous roles include Current Affairs Anchor at KBS America, District Director for the California State Assembly, Executive Director of the Korean American Coalition - Los Angeles, and Field Organizer & Community Liaison for David E. Ryu's City Council campaign. Steve's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Politics and Communication from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
