Ling Meng has a diverse work experience in the field of plant research and genetic engineering. They worked as a Cell Technology Accelerator Lead and Research Fellow at KWS Group, where they developed cutting-edge plant cell technologies and invented regeneration boosting proteins and technologies for genetic engineering. They also led a team in establishing genotype-independent and single-cell regeneration systems for genome editing. Prior to that, Ling Meng worked as a Group Leader for Plant Growth Regulation at KWS Group. They also held research fellow positions at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California, Berkeley, where they conducted research in plant biology. They started their career as an Assistant Specialist at UC Berkeley, focusing on understanding and improving plant culture and transformation technology in maize and barley.
Ling Meng earned a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, from 2006 to 2009, Ling obtained a Master's Degree in Statistics from the same institution.
