Amaya Gascó MD PhD has extensive work experience in the field of oncology. Amaya is currently serving as the Vice President of Clinical Development and Global Medical Affairs at Kura Oncology, Inc. Amaya joined the company in August 2022 as the Vice President of Clinical Development and later took on the additional role of Global Medical Affairs. Prior to their current position, Amaya worked at AstraZeneca for many years in various roles, including Global Clinical Program Lead and Director of Early Clinical Development in R&D Oncology. Amaya also served as a Senior Global Medical Affairs Leader in Immuno-Oncology and a Medical Affairs Manager in Oncology at AstraZeneca. Before joining AstraZeneca, they worked as a Medical Oncologist at INSTITUTO ONCOLÓGICO DR. ROSELL. Amaya gained experience as an Emergency Room MD at Sagrada Familia Clinic, SA and as a Medical Oncologist at Hospital Plató and Oncological Institute Baselga. Their career in oncology began at Hospital del Mar- Parc de Salut MAR as a Medical Oncologist Specialty.

Amaya Gascó MD PhD obtained their MD degree in Medicine from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in the years 1995 to 2001. Amaya then pursued further education and completed a Master's Thesis in Colorectal Cancer at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2002 to 2006. Their academic journey continued as they pursued a PhD and completed their thesis on Lung Cancer at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2010 to 2013.
