Simon Bernier has a diverse work experience spanning from 2005 to the present. Simon began their career in 2005 as a Weapons Technician in the Canadian Forces, where they worked until 2009. From 2010 to 2014, Simon worked as a Programmer and Web Developer for Exova Group Limited, focusing on the development of various applications and a LIMS internal web application. In 2014, Simon joined PetalMD as a Back-End Developer, where they became the maintainer of the Booking product and worked extensively with Ruby on Rails, Redis, and Elasticsearch. In 2018, Simon transitioned to La Capitale as a Programming Analyst, working on a cloud-native notification engine and previously as a back-end programmer in Ruby on Rails. Lastly, since 2021, Simon has been employed as a Fullstack Developer at Solutions Kumojin Inc.

Simon Bernier obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from Université de Montréal, which they pursued from 2000 to 2003. Prior to this, they completed a DEC (Diplôme d'Études Collégiales) in Sciences Pures at CEGEP Montmorency between 1997 and 1999.
