The Opportunity

Joining our company full-time as a professional Conference Interpreter and Assistant Project Coordinator offers a unique blend of stability, growth, and impact that freelancing may not provide. We are considering candidates with full working proficiency (native or near-native) in English in combination with one of the following languages (A or B): French, Portuguese, and/or Japanese. Any other spoken language is a plus. Our ideal candidate has both passion and experience in the field of interpreting, coordinating multilingual events, increasing inclusivity, and aiming for quality and effective business communication.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing simultaneous interpretation services, remotely or on-site, as needed into and from English and into and from French, and other spoken languages like Spanish, Portuguese, or Japanese.

  • Sourcing freelance interpreters on a language-demand basis and bringing them into our KUDO Marketplace, by vetting their aptitude to become KUDO Pro.

  • Hostingoccasionalonboardingwebinarsand sound-checks to expand the interpreter roster on a language-demand basis.

  • Maintaining a database of freelance interpretersin compliance with the ISO standard,and running queries against that roster.

  • Assisting in strategically staffing freelance interpreters for meetings and events (checking their availability, distributing work offers, distributing materials, verifying credentials, and answering queries).

  • Maintaining and keeping up-to-date a thorough inventory of events requiring interpretation.

  • Additional administrative and general duties of interpretation-related activities like clear and concise client communication for upcoming events, and submitting tickets for product review.

  • Assisting other departments with testing new interpreter tools, and occasional translation and localization tasks.

  • Assisting with brainstorming new ways to create a strong sense of community within KUDO interpreters, while developing a strongbusiness-oriented mindset, to benefit all parties involved.

Minimum Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in Conference Interpretation.

    • An advanced Degree in a related field coupled with extensive interpreting experience may be considered instead of an Advanced Degree in Conference Interpretation.
  • Outstanding language skills.

  • Concise, clear, and factual verbal and written business communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships internally and externally.

  • Well-organized with attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

  • Willingness to embrace challenges with a positive attitude, e.g. "being in the spotlight" during client meetings or hosting onboarding webinars.

  • Comfortable with multitasking during demanding conference meetings.

  • Consistent access to a reliable internet connection
