Veli-Pekka Ronkainen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Veli-Pekka began their career at TeliaSonera in 1994, where they worked as a Sales Representative, responsible for selling telecommunication products and services to both corporate and individual customers. Veli-Pekka later took on the role of Sales Manager, focusing on acquiring new corporate clients, upselling to existing clients, and providing consulting services on telecommunication solutions. Veli-Pekka also managed billing development and customer satisfaction for their own clients as well as regional companies and public institutions. In 2006, they joined Pohjola as a Sales Manager, leading the acquisition of new corporate customers, upselling to existing ones, and collaborating with local Osuuspankki banks. Veli-Pekka'srole involved providing comprehensive security and well-being solutions. In 2011, they moved to Technopolis Plc as an Account Manager, responsible for managing key customer relationships in corporate sales, developing and upselling services, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Veli-Pekka'srole also included selling telecommunication and data security solutions to corporate clients in the information-intensive and healthcare sectors. Most recently, they joined KPY Novapolis Oy in 2019 as a Sales Account Manager, where they focus on managing key customer relationships, selling comprehensive solutions, developing customer relationships, and acquiring new corporate clients from various industries.

Veli-Pekka Ronkainen began their education in 1991 at Business School in Kuopio, Finland. Veli-Pekka pursued a Vocational Qualification in Business and Administration with a focus on Business and Marketing, which they completed in 1994. Veli-Pekka then went on to attend Rastor, where they participated in the JET Leader 2015 program from 2013 to 2015.
