Veikko Niemi currently serves as the Director of Education and Culture for the City of Kouvola, a position held since June 2021. Niemi has a longstanding association with Kouvolan kaupunki, holding various roles since January 2009, including Director of Education, Customership Manager, Director of Secondary Education and Youth Services, and Purchasing Manager for secondary education services. Veikko Niemi earned a Master's degree in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from the University of Helsinki between 1982 and 1986.
