Carrie Lucas has a diverse work experience. In 2021, they began working at Kortext as an Operations Development Co-Ordinator and Content Advocate. In this role, they are responsible for ensuring content is loaded in a timely manner to the Kortext platform, coordinating collection, secure storage, and processing of eBook content files and metadata submitted to Kortext by publishers, and working with publishers and their distribution partners to obtain all content available for loading.
From 2018 to 2021, Carrie worked at the University of Toronto Press as a Junior Buyer. In this role, they were the primary buyer for front-list fiction, indigenous studies, drama, and children’s trade books. Carrie also curated all book displays for the University of Toronto storefront, based on student and local academic engagement. Additionally, they expanded the bulk-selling business by facilitating weekly sales to several university departments, local libraries, and organisations.
From 2014 to 2018, Carrie worked at Indigo as a Customer Service Lead. In this role, they handled all customer questions and feedback, always providing solutions in a professional and timely manner. Carrie also organised events to celebrate “Grant-Day” with children and teachers in local elementary schools, recipients of Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s Grants twice yearly. Carrie also welcomed school librarians and teachers into the flagship storefront to facilitate bulk-purchases as use of the school’s Love of Reading grant.
Carrie Lucas obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.
