Carl Fulton has extensive experience in the healthcare information technology field. Carl began their career at Inland Imaging as an Application Manager, where they managed electronic health records and client relationships. Carl then joined CTG Healthcare Solutions as a Senior Consultant, before moving on to Galen Healthcare Solutions as a Lead Consultant, where they worked on project management and implementation of Allscripts projects. At Microsoft, they served as a Senior Consultant, working on healthcare technology assessments and project management. Carl later started their own consulting firm, Fulton Group Consulting, where they worked as a Principal Consultant and Solution Director. Carl then worked at Scripps Health as a Manager and Director in various information management roles. Currently, Carl is the Executive Director of Technology Services at Kootenai Health, where they are responsible for a wide range of technology and application verticals, including infrastructure, desktop environment, service desk, and information security.
Carl Fulton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Management Information Systems from WSU Carson College of Business in 1999-2003. Carl later pursued a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University from 2008-2010. In terms of certifications, Carl obtained the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) certification from CHIME in 2020, the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2014, and the Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification from HIMSS in 2013. Additionally, they have certifications in various areas of Health Information Management from Epic, including Hospital Coding and Deficiency Tracking, as well as Release of Information.
