Mike Swierenga has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Most recently, they are currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Kong Inc. since June 2021. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Software Engineer at Xyla, leading front-end and API development for a web application focused on data analysis and automation for marketers. Additionally, they have worked as a Software Engineering Consultant on two separate occasions, one in 2020 and another in 2018. Before that, from 2016 to 2018, they were a Software Engineer at Tome, where they built various applications across different platforms. Mike gained experience in software development as a Software Engineer Intern at GHSP from 2015 to 2016. Prior to entering the technology industry, Mike worked as a Frame Carpenter in residential construction from 2013 to 2014, and as an Assistant Manager at Ace Hardware from 2008 to 2012.

Mike Swierenga completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, in 2012, they attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) where they studied Dutch environmental studies. No degree was specified for their time at VU Amsterdam.
