Nicolas Botero has over 17 years of work experience. Nicolas began their career in 2003 as an Intern at Banco de Comercio Exterior S.A. (Bancóldex), where they were responsible for attending the 800 line and continuing the implementation of the management indicator tool. In 2004, they became the Systems Administrator at Muebles Wonderful, where they managed Windows and Solaris servers, the company website, and the company emails. In 2005, they joined INTERGRUPO S.A. as an Engineer of Development, where they were responsible for the implementation, migration, and support of server and desktop operating systems, email systems, management systems, and security strategies on the Microsoft platform. In 2007, they joined PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) as a Senior Consultant, where they were responsible for the auditing of processes in complex clients. In 2016, they became the Lead Security Consultant at ControlCase. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Healthcare Practice Lead at Kompleye.

Nicolas Botero completed a Bachelor's Degree in Ingeniería de Sistemas from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 1999 and 2005. Prior to that, they attended Colegio Colombo Británico from 1985 to 1999 and obtained a High School degree in Ciencias. In 2015-2016, they completed an Especialización Gerencia Financiera. Additionally, they hold certifications from ISACA (CDPSE, CISA, and COBIT Foundation), HITRUST (Certified CSF Practitioner), PECB (ISO 27001 Lead Implementer - Information Security Certification), and PCI Security Standards Council (PCIP and QSA).
