David Rains is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law, particularly in the areas of venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial contracting. Since August 2014, Rains has served as Senior Counsel at Koch, providing legal guidance on investments and regulatory compliance for Koch Disruptive Technologies and supporting various Koch Minerals businesses. Rains has successfully led over $1 billion in venture capital investments and navigated complex transactions across global jurisdictions. Previously, Rains practiced at Hogan Lovells US LLP, focusing on Latin American projects, and at Vinson and Elkins, specializing in complex commercial litigation in energy and international dispute resolution. Rains obtained a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in Economics from Brigham Young University.
