Melody M. Hawkins

District Science Facilitator at Knox County Schools

Melody M. Hawkins has a diverse and extensive background in education and curriculum development. Currently serving as the District Science Facilitator for Knox County Schools since August 2015, Melody has also held roles as an Assistant Administrator at Austin East Magnet High School and as a Science Teacher and Department Chairperson at Vine Middle Magnet School. In addition, Melody is a Science Curriculum Reviewer for EdReports.org since December 2022 and was a Tennessee Educator Fellow with Tennessee SCORE from June 2019 to May 2020. Previous experience includes various positions at Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network, Inc. from August 2011 to April 2015 and serving as an Americorps Member with the American Red Cross from August 2010 to May 2011. Melody holds a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from National University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Carson-Newman University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
