Wister Ng began their work experience in 2011 as a Project Manager at the Chinatown Business Improvement Area. In 2012, they became a Sr. Sales Associate at Wireless DNA/Guru Inc. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at OANDA, first as a Bilingual Client Experience Associate and then as a Client Engagement Specialist. In 2016, they co-founded Knit People and took on the role of Co-founder and Product. Additionally, in 2008, Wister worked as a Laboratory Technician (PT) at the University of Toronto.

Wister Ng completed their undergraduate education at the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2011. They obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Molecular Genetics and Microbiology as well as Sociology. In 2015, Wister received a Front End Development Certification from freeCodeCamp. They further pursued their education at Ryerson University, where they began a Certificate program in Computer Security and Digital Forensics in 2016, which is ongoing.

In addition to their formal education, Wister has obtained several certifications. In December 2015, they earned an Inbound Certification from HubSpot. They also completed a Java Course and a PHP Course, earning Certificates of Completion from SoloLearn. Wister has also obtained a Data Visualization with D3.js certification from Lynda.com. Furthermore, they have earned certifications in MongoDB for Node.js Developers from MongoDB University, Shaping up with Angular.js from Code School, and Up and Running with ECMAScript 6 from Lynda.com.
