David Hawbaker has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2006 as a 3D Modeler for LambCo Productions. In 2009, they worked as a Customer Service Attendant for the WSU Cougar Card Center, a Compositor/ Visual Effects Artist for Up and Coming Pictures, a Network Technician for the WSU IT Department, a Photographer & Photo Editor for The Daily Evergreen, and a Software Engineering Intern, Associate Software Engineer, and Software Engineer for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). In 2010, they worked as a Photographer for David Hawbaker Photography, and continued their work at SEL as a Software Engineer. From 2016 to 2022, they worked as a Firmware System Engineer for HP, and is currently employed as a Robotics Engineer and Jr. Robotics Engineer for Knightscope.

David Hawbaker attended Vancouver Film School from 2006 to 2007, earning a Foundation: Visual Arts and Design degree in Visual Art & Design for films. David then attended Vancouver Film School again from 2007 to 2008, earning a 3D Animation & Visual Effects degree in Visual Effects. From 2009 to 2013, they attended Washington State University, earning a Computer Science degree in Computer Science. In 2019, they attended Udacity and completed the Robotics Software Engineer Nanodegree Program in Computer Software Engineering. David is currently attending Portland State University, where they are pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science.
