Markus Probst has extensive work experience in various roles related to sales, business development, and research. Markus is currently serving as the Head of Sales, Business Unit Energy at KISTERS AG since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Business Development Manager at cronn GmbH from July 2019 to September 2020. Markus also had several roles at KISTERS AG, including Solution Area Manager, Product Manager Energy Market Systems, and Solution Manager Single and Complex Solutions Energy Market from 2012 to 2019. Markus Probst began their career as a Postgraduate Researcher at Excellence Cluster "Production Technology for High-Wage Countries" from August 2007 to September 2011 and at DFG Priority Program "Optimization with Partial Differential Equations" from September 2006 to February 2010. Markus also gained research experience as a Visiting Researcher at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and Rice University Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Markus Probst obtained their education from RWTH Aachen University. From 2000 to 2006, they pursued a Diploma degree in Mathematics and Economics. Following this, they pursued a higher level of education and completed a Dr. rer. nat. (comparable to a PhD) in Mathematics and Computational Engineering Science from 2006 to 2013 at the same university. As part of their educational journey, Markus also spent a year, from 2004 to 2005, as an exchange student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), focusing on Mathematics with a particular emphasis on variational inequalities and functional analysis.
